“The laws of nature are simple, and they’ve never changed.”
— Percy McManus
“In the 25 years I’ve known Percy, she has been one of the most positive influences in my life. She has completely changed how I look at my health. Because of her I understand that I have the ability and the responsibility to shape my own wellbeing.”
— Susan Iversen, horticulturist
“I have known Percy since 1990. Through life’s ups and downs she has always been there for me and my family, helping us maintain our health using natural supplements. Her health advice has always been spot on. It’s the manner in which she delivers her advice that I really appreciate. It’s honest, straight forward and not without a little humor. She takes the mystery out of taking care of ourselves. Without a doubt she is a gift.”
— Cheryl Johnson, quilter
“Percy has been my nutritionist and herbalist since the 1990s. She has been a guardian of my health. She always guides me in the way of using natural health solutions. She excels at explaining nutrition in simple terms anyone can understand. She is kind, gracious and easy to talk to about even the most personal health questions. I recommend her to anyone who desires to live a healthier life.”
— Susan Elliott, scientist
“During the first three months following Percy’s suggestions I was able to eliminate 12 of the 20 prescription drugs I was taking. I was feeling the best I had felt in a long time. I no longer had pain from three spinal fusions and the arthritis pain in my back was gone. I was scheduled for foot surgery but cancelled it because her advice cleared up the problem. Friends remarked how much better my color was and that I looked so much better.”
— Dave Larsen, retired teacher
“Several years ago I barely survived a head-on collision. I was told by doctors that I had severe nerve damage to my hands that was incurable. That was devastating news because I am a classically trained pianist and teacher, and the damage left me unable to continue my career. After the doctors gave up on me, suggesting that I would probably end up in a nursing home, I met Percy and started on a nutritional supplement program. Under her guidance my hands became healed and pain free, something I never thought I would experience again. I was able to play the piano again and resume my career.”
— Karen Anderson, piano teacher
“I am 79 years old, a retired registered nurse, so pharmaceuticals have been what I’ve known and used. Then 20 years ago I met Percy. She introduced me to herbs—and real health—and now every cell in my body sings with vitality! The only side effects of a good diet, herbs and exercise is good health!”
— Audrey Hargrave, retired nurse
“I have known Percy as my friend and mentor for over 20 years. At first she helped me get my health on track, then she taught me how to use herbs and I became an herbalist myself, ministering to the needs of my clients. I have had my own herbal and nutrition practice for nearly 20 years now. Percy has always been a blessing and an inspiration to me.”
— Sue Reynolds, herbalist
“I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Percy for over 25 years. Whenever I have some kind of “non-optimum wellness issue” I give Percy a call and she always knows exactly what to do.”
— Glenn Swenson, marketing director
“After giving birth to my daughter, I had a gall bladder attack and ended up in the emergency room. Even though it was discovered I had no gallstones the doctor said the only way to get rid of the pain was to remove the gallbladder. I went home, called Percy, and took her suggestion. My pain
immediately subsided and I still have my gallbladder today, 18 years later. I trust Percy’s advice implicitly. She helps me heal physically, emotionally and spiritually. She is invaluable in keeping me in balance and in good health.”
— Alexis Merydith, systems analyst
“I have known Percy for over 24 years and have always followed her herbal advice about my different health issues. These issues include kidney stones, parasites, dehydration, nosebleeds, sinus infections, colds, ear infections, and breakthrough bleeding with my cycle, just to name a few. When I was raising my daughter she helped me use the right nutrition and supplements and my daughter never had to go to the
doctor, even when all her classmates were getting sick. I’m so grateful Percy came into my life and helped me understand the way our bodies work, and the role herbs play in keeping us healthy.“
— Norma Anderson, day spa owner
“I consider the day that I was introduced to Percy in 1985 a life-changing, red letter day. It took courage for me to move from the socially acceptable world of western medicine to a more natural approach that
requires being personally responsible, but Percy helped show me the way. I have had hundreds of minor illnesses corrected, several major healings, and psychological and spiritual repairs beyond enumeration. I’ve been blessed beyond comprehension.”
— Gail Nadine, accounts payable manager
“Percy is truly a gifted healer and teacher. She generously shares her hard-earned wisdom with those of us who value her amazing insight and knowledge of how the body works. I have trusted Percy with my own health needs for 22 years and have also recommended her to my family and friends. I encourage everyone to pay attention to her vast understanding of the human body. She teaches you that health is really simple, that we can recover and ultimately stay well, using nutrition and natural
techniques.”

I didn’t know I was going to have a career in nutrition. But then things can happen that change everything.
In my situation it was when my husband started having health issues. We were newly married and looking forward to building a life together. One day, out of nowhere, he started having problems with his knees. They became swollen and painful. When the problem didn’t go away we made an appointment to see a doctor. The doctor was puzzled by the symptoms but prescribed drugs for it. The drugs gave my husband such bad side effects we tried another doctor. More drugs, and again, more side effects.
In the end, we saw seven doctors and they all prescribed different drugs, but gave no relief from the pain and swelling. In fact, his knees became so swollen they had to be drained every two weeks, and he was given shots of cortisone for the pain. When I asked the seventh doctor my usual question, are there any side effects to this medication? He snapped back, “there are side effects to everything! He’s going to be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life in a few years so you’d better get used to it.”
I was stunned by his diagnosis. After all the visits and medications this was the final conclusion? My husband was only 23 at the time! There had to be another answer! But by then I realized modern medicine didn’t have it. I decided to look elsewhere. I figured if modern medicine with all their medical experts didn’t know how to fix it, I would try going the natural route. Maybe there was a secret ingredient in nutrition that was missing, like a vitamin or mineral or something else, that would solve the problem. I was determined to find the answer.
So I started reading. Back in the 1970s there was no internet, no google, no tech at all. It was books, health magazines, and libraries. That was it. I read everything I could get my hands on that pertained to health. Every day I kept believing that today would be the day I’d find the answer—and I didn’t even know what I was looking for!
Thank goodness the 1970s were when natural health solutions were starting to become popular and the health benefits of vitamins and minerals discovered. I didn’t know I had stumbled upon the right path for answers. Yet, months went by without much change in my husband’s health, even though I had started him on supplements. Still, I became convinced that nutrition was the answer. I kept at it.
I didn’t know what I was doing, I had no teacher or mentor. I made lots of errors, like buying synthetic vitamins, keeping him salt free (horrible mistake!), taking the amounts suggested on the back of the bottle only, and not paying attention to the amount of water he was drinking.
It took 18 long months, but in the end, in spite of all the mistakes I made, we stayed committed, and his health was finally restored. His knees became normal, no pain or swelling. No drugs or doctors were involved, and no wheelchair was ever needed. We could go back to a normal life! The only problem was, I loved researching information about natural health solutions so much I didn’t want to give it up! It was exciting discovering secrets that modern medicine was not involved in. I was hooked on it. I started helping others with their health issues. It was so satisfying to be able to give people answers to their health problems. They were not getting satisfaction from modern medicine and prescription drugs. They were ready to try something else. Before I knew it, several years had passed and I realized I was doing the work full time.
Now it’s nearly 40 years later. I’ve seen thousands of clients, taught classes on health and nutrition, and still love what I do. I love sharing the information I’ve discovered about natural health, and thanks to technology, I’m now able to share it internationally via my website, my podcasts and my Podclasses. I will continue to add more content as time goes on. My goal is to help you feel strong and confident in your physical body, that you have the information you need to overcome health challenges.
There is always an answer, if you never give up. That’s my philosophy.
There has never been a better time than now to look into natural health remedies and what they can do for you. Modern medicine, with all its patented pharmaceutical drugs being dispensed right and left to anyone who has a health problem, has eroded the public’s trust by killing and injuring countless numbers of people. Side effects from drugs, misdiagnoses, incompetence, and harmful practices have all contributed to the public becoming more wary and more disenchanted with the drug and surgery route.
Many traditional practices that have been in use for thousands of years are now coming back into fashion, with many people delighted at the simplicity and ease with which they can utilize them in their normal, every day living.
It turns out that chronic health problems are the result of nutritional deficiencies.
If you supply the body what it needs nutritionally it will correct the chronic problem all by itself. That statement of truth I’m sure you probably didn’t know.
These days there are so many processed foods and chemicals in our food supply that the majority of people suffer from toxicity and malnutrition because of it. Most of the farmland used to grow crops is severely depleted in minerals due to being overworked for decades, without time for the minerals in the soil to be replenished. Constant use of pesticides and herbicides contribute to the toxicity. Obesity is at an all time high and getting worse.
It’s time to take a different approach. Getting back to basics and time honored traditions and remedies is the path that will establish good health. Drugs and surgery have their place but only as emergency measures. Long term health maintenance and vitality comes from eating healthy, unprocessed foods and taking nutritional supplements.

Chronic health problems are increasing all the time, causing more people to resort to drugs in an attempt to fix the problem. But all drugs can do is suppress the symptoms; they don’t make the body healthy. And over time the side effects can cause even more problems to develop.
Drugs are seen by the body as toxic invaders, and it will respond by using vitamins and minerals as a shield in an attempt to protect the cells from being damaged. If you’re lacking in nutrients your body becomes vulnerable to the attack. That’s why when you’re sick you need even more nutrition than when you’re well.
Some experts say you need 5 to 7 times the amount of nutrients to recover from an illness. Supplying the body with the necessary nutrients by taking nutritional supplements is convenient and effective.
When a health problem becomes chronic, meaning you have symptoms of it every day, sometimes more, sometimes less, it’s due to having chronic nutritional deficiencies.
The person can’t get well because their body is lacking the nutrients it needs to repair itself!
The difference between drugs and nutritional supplements is that drugs INTERFERE with the body’s metabolism, but supplements ENHANCE the body’s metabolism. That’s a huge difference, interfering vs. enhancing.
There are natural solutions to chronic health problems and each Podclass will cover in detail why the problem happened and what you need to do to restore health.
Some examples of chronic health problems are arthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, weak immune system, and brain dysfunction.
Every one of those happen due to nutritional deficiencies.
Knowing which nutrients are needed to correct a problem and why is the goal of each Podclass. All systems of the body will be included in the series.
